Ian S. Hagemann, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Pathology & Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine, was recently elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA). The organization’s mission includes “honoring gifted teaching” and “encouraging the development of leaders in academia and the community,” AOA said on its website. In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr. Hagemann is heavily involved in medical education at the School of Medicine, where he currently serves as Assistant Dean for Admissions and is a member of the Academy of Educators, an institutional collaboration of educators who help foster educational excellence. Dr. Hagemann also has an education leadership role in the Department of Pathology & Immunology, where he is Director of the Gynecologic and Breast Pathology Fellowship.
