Research Interests
My research relates to clinicopathologic correlations, prognostic factors and biomarkers in gynecologic and breast pathology. I am interested in using molecular and clinical data to better understand tumors that are histologically mixed, such as uterine carcinosarcomas (which contain both carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements) and endometrial carcinomas with mixed endometrioid and serous components. In another set of projects, I am applying image analysis to diagnostic and predictive questions in gynecologic cancer. In my team science role, I serve as the local reference pathologist for Gynecologic Oncology Group and other trials, triaging biospecimens for translational research as well as study qualification. Finally, I am interested in studying the clinical implementation of next-generation sequencing to delineate its role in cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction.
