AMP CORE LABS is a full-service, CAP-certified/CLIA-licensed, pathology laboratory that supports testing for the Department’s clinical consult service and a variety of clinical outreach activities.  It also provides laboratory support for selected clinical trials and translational research projects.

Location & Hours: Lab is located at the South Medical Campus on the 4th floor of the West Building (Suite 4718-4721). Lab services in support of research activities are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Research Services

Testing is supported by WashU Medicine anatomic pathologists, technicians, and administrative staff.

  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC, immunoperoxidase) on formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human tissues
  • Tissue processing and paraffin embedding
  • Microtomy to generate tissue sections
  • H & E and special histochemical stains

Anatomic and Molecular Pathology (AMP)

The Division of Anatomic & Molecular Pathology integrates traditional light microscopy with advanced techniques such as immunohistochemistry, electron microscopy, and flow cytometry to accurately diagnose benign and malignant diseases. Supported by the exceptional research environment at WashU Medicine, the division plays a leading role in applied and basic science research.
