Research Interests
My research aims to improve patient care by refining, discovering, and implementing biomarkers for the detection and prediction of disease, particularly in acute and critical care settings. My specific interests include the use of biomarkers to aid in the diagnosis and prognostication of infectious disease including sepsis and viral infections. I am also interested in the use of cardiac biomarkers as a measure of cardiotoxicity in both the acute and chronic care settings. Finally, I am interested in the preanalytical phase of testing and identifying variables that impact laboratory results.
