The inaugural Alexander C. Sonnenwirth Memorial Lecture will be presented by Dr. Arturo Alvarez-Buylla on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 12:00-1:00pm at the Holden Auditorium. Dr. Alvarez-Buylla is currently the Heather and Melanie Muss Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery and the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). 

Dr. Alvarez-Buylla is a pioneer in the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neural stem cell development and neurogenesis in the adult mammalian brain.
