The Department of Pathology & Immunology offers a four-year combined anatomic pathology/neuropathology (AP/NP) program.
Interested applicants typically will spend the first two years of this four-year program in anatomic pathology residency followed by a two-year neuropathology fellowship. During the first year in NP, concentration is directed to the diagnostic aspects of neuropathology. In this period, the trainee gains familiarity with both common and rare neuropathological diseases. The second year is primarily for research.
A wide spectrum of both clinical and neuroscience research opportunities exist within the division and the medical school environment. Graduates of the combined program are eligible for certification in both AP and NP.
When applying through ERAS, use the application for AP/NP.
